The Sustainable Development Goals represent a global initiative to eradicate poverty, protect the planet, guarantee peace and ensure prosperity. The study focuses on assessing the level of knowledge that university students have regarding the Sustainable Development Goals , the 2030 Agenda, its key principles, and the concept of Circular Economy. Students, as future professionals, will play an essential role in the implementation of these goals, which makes it essential to analyze their progress and the knowledge acquired on these topics, in an increasingly globalized market that requires an active contribution to sustainable development.

The data for this research were collected through a questionnaire from 4th year students of the Industrial Electronic and Automatic Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering degrees at the Bilbao School of Engineering (University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU). The results show that there is a high level of ignorance on the part of students about the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (45.16% and 51.61% respectively). This represents a significant knowledge gap in both aspects and reflects critical areas where education and awareness strategies may need to be strengthened to adequately prepare students as agents of change in the implementation of these global goals.
