Drug discovery and development is an interdisciplinary process that requires the collaboration and involvement of several international institutions. Understanding this process is a crucial competency for Pharmacy students and integrating it with an internationalization program enhances student learning significantly. To address this objective, the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) "Drug Discovery and Development" was developed at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, in Albacete, Spain, with the collaboration of 6 European universities. The program spanned seven days and included a total of 22 in-person and online sessions, covering both theoretical and practical aspects. This structure allowed the achievement of the BIP’s four main objectives: interdisciplinary understanding, practical skills, innovative learning, and inclusivity in education. This BIP included various sessions exploring drug discovery and development from a multidisciplinary approach, addressing topics such as drug discovery, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, toxicology, pharmaceutical biotechnology, clinical trials, and bioinformatics. The objectives were successfully achieved, as demonstrated by survey feedback from both students and participating professors.
