In the context of rapid global changes, the TRANSPAVET project exemplifies a multidisciplinary collaboration between veterinary, journalism, and audiovisual communication students. This initiative aims to enhance student engagement and societal impact through innovative educational dissemination strategies, including Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR).

The project is structured in three replicable phases: acquisition of essential knowledge on a socially relevant topic, application and deepening of knowledge through practical work, and expanding the social impact via global dissemination. Initially, veterinary students at CEU Cardenal Herrera University (CEU UCH) were introduced to the topic of animal experimentation and its alternatives. They created scientific posters, which were then presented within the university and to the public, fostering critical thinking and communication skills.

The second phase involved the dissemination of these works using AR and VR, significantly increasing their reach and impact through an educational platform called Clon Digital, that allows access to the posters from any connected device.

The final phase saw the project’s expansion to include journalism and audiovisual communication students, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. This integration aimed to enhance the scientific literacy of journalism students and use artistic expressions to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively. The project culminated in public exhibitions and international presentations, demonstrating its success in engaging students and the broader community.

This project provides a model for integrating emerging technologies and multidisciplinary collaboration in education to enhance student engagement and societal impact.
