The paper deals with the use of the 3D printer in the selected subject called Production and assembly systems. Students use 3D printers in the implementation of proposals for the creation of real models and prototypes. In this way, students gain experience with current production technologies, improve their design skills and gain valuable practical experience in the field of product development. The core of the work consists of a proposal for the use of a 3D printer as well as a description of the selected 3D printer and the training that was focused on working with the given printer and software. The conclusion of the work contains visual standards, such as a visual standard for quick operation, for working with software and for working with a 3D printer and a database of parts.
