However, educators face significant challenges in adopting these technologies, primarily due to gaps in professional development and the rapid pace of AI advancements. This paper examines these barriers, drawing on recent research and case studies to highlight the complexities of educator training in the AI era. Current studies underscore the inadequacy of existing professional development programs, which often fail to address the unique demands of AI integration. These programs frequently lack hands-on training, contextual relevance, and ongoing support, leaving educators unprepared to navigate the sophisticated AI tools now entering the educational landscape. Additionally, the paper emphasizes the importance of addressing ethical considerations, such as data privacy and algorithmic bias, in AI training programs to build trust and ensure responsible use. By bridging the gap between AI innovation and classroom practice, this paper argues for a comprehensive and sustainable approach to EPD.
