APPLICATION OF ACTIVE LEARNING TECHNIQUES SUPPORTED BY GENERATIVE AI IN EDUCATION

In the era of artificial intelligence (AI), it is crucial for educators to adapt to the new technological context to offer innovative educational approaches. This study investigates the integration of generative AI tools into active learning techniques and the personalization of educational experiences in higher education, specifically in the course "Innovation Management and Learning Experience Design" at Tecnológico de Monterrey. AI-supported activities were implemented to enhance learning, such as adapted simulated interviews, critical debates with grounded analysis and argumentation, AI-generated images of personal stories, chatbot development to foster autonomous learning, and the creation of gamified experiences tailored to students’ interests, enriching teaching and offering students relevant experiences and skills.

Activities were designed that integrated AI with a solid pedagogical strategy aligned with ethical objectives, focusing on the personalization of learning so that students could interact with AI tools to adapt their learning experience. The impact was measured through surveys, which showed high satisfaction, with more than 80% of students rating the utility and ease of use of the tools positively, highlighting a significant impact on critical thinking development and the creation of innovative educational experiences.

AI has the potential to accelerate the teaching-learning process, facilitate innovation, and personalize the educational experience, if an ethical and responsible use is promoted. The study emphasizes the need for ongoing teacher training and a multidisciplinary effort to adopt technologies in a structured way, establishing safe technological ecosystems and promoting intentional pedagogical strategies. This is essential to innovate in student-centered educational processes and ensure a conscious and beneficial educational transformation.
