ADVANCING EDUCATION THROUGH AI-POWERED LEARNING STRATEGIES AND TEACHING TECHNIQUES

Advancing education through Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the higher education landscape by utilizing AI-powered learning strategies and teaching techniques. Leveraging AI enables the personalization of learning experiences, enhances instructional quality, and provides unique, native language-based training for students. This integration of AI makes education more accessible and effective, offering tailored and impactful educational experiences.
Additionally, tested during the last three years in multiple subject courses this AI-empowered methodology has reduced the learning curve and delivered a much more effective and personalized experience for each student.
The main objective of the following research is to develop a knowledge-creation methodology based on teachers' experiences, supported by AI, to personalize content according to the target audience. The aim is to improve the student experience, enhance lesson quality, and offer unique, native language-based training to improve the level of the student's presentation and his transversal competencies or soft skills.
A study from a conference paper at the 30th European Conference of the International Telecommunications Society has indicated that personalized learning mainly when supported by AI, can significantly enhance student engagement and achievement. Students in AI-powered personalized learning environments demonstrated an increase in academic performance compared to those in traditional classroom settings. Additionally, a study from E-Journal of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences from 2024 revealed that the use of AI-driven techniques enabled an improvement in students' soft skills, such as communication and critical thinking, by providing tailored feedback and practice opportunities.
By utilizing AI to support educators and personalize education, more effective and inclusive learning environments have been created, ensuring that the needs of every student are met, ultimately enhancing their preparedness and the development of competencies for the professional world. This AI-driven educational methodology has been successfully implemented across various subject courses at Tecnológico de Monterrey, including the TEC21 educational model. The semester is divided into three academic periods, during which students demonstrate increasing autonomy and confidence in their presentations. This innovative approach goes beyond solving predefined problems; it empowers students to define the problem and take ownership of the solution through a project-based learning methodology. At the end of each academic period, students present their projects to their academic partners, showcasing their independent thinking and problem-solving skills.
