Although Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been developing for several decades, it is now becoming accessible to the general public, including higher education students. Some perceive this as a threat to learning, while others see it as a significant opportunity for enhancement.

In the first section, we will succinctly present how AI operates, enabling us to understand the outcomes it generates. The second section will analyze these outcomes synthetically, elucidating why many of them are not as expected and even erroneous, while acknowledging that many are beneficial and represent a substantial advancement in the academic sphere, resulting in graduates better prepared for the future labor market.

The professors from the Educational Innovation Group "Innovatio Educativa Tertio Millennio" have compiled a list of AI utilities expected to be useful in the university setting in 2024, for both professors and students, justifying their selection.

The group of professors authoring this paper is confident that the use of AI in the academic field will become as normalized as other technological and informatics advancements. It is an opportune moment to adapt to these changes and maximize their benefits.
