ANALYZING THE CHALLENGES AND BENEFITS OF CONTINUED USE OF CHATGPT IN EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS

This study investigates the impact of prolonged use of ChatGPT on student education. Through comprehensive surveys, we explored students’ experiences, focusing on their dependency on ChatGPT, the benefits they perceive, and any learning outcomes. We also examined the socio-economic background of the participants to understand its influence on technology adoption. The findings reveal diverse perspectives. Some students appreciate ChatGPT for enhancing productivity and providing easy access to information. However, concerns arise about over-reliance on the tool, which may hinder the development of critical thinking and creativity. The study highlights significant factors such as the availability of technological resources, teacher training, and the prevailing educational culture, which affect the integration of ChatGPT in education. We also address ethical and social implications, emphasizing the need for balanced and reflective use. While ChatGPT offers substantial benefits, it is crucial to mitigate potential risks, such as dependency and reduced cognitive engagement. Promoting digital literacy and critical thinking skills among students is essential for effective AI tool management. In summary, this research provides valuable insights into the prolonged use of ChatGPT in education, underlining both its potential and its challenges. These findings aim to inform future educational practices and policies, ensuring that AI tools are leveraged to enhance, rather than impede, student learning.
