Entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in the development of the economy and the creation of new jobs. It provides individuals with an opportunity for self-realization. Promoting entrepreneurship among young people is essential for the country's future economic growth and innovation. University students represent a significant group of potential entrepreneurs who can bring new ideas and solutions. Therefore, it is essential to understand their attitudes and motivations towards entrepreneurship. The article aims to determine university students' attitudes towards entrepreneurship and their interest in entrepreneurship education.

The research is based on questionnaire research carried out in Slovakia at five faculties of the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra. The questionnaire research was subsequently evaluated using descriptive and inferential statistics.

Based on questionnaire research, we can state that only 3.3% of respondents are entrepreneurs. Respondents primarily see entrepreneurship as an opportunity to test their abilities and fulfill their ambitions. From business, they expect the opportunity to do what they enjoy, the opportunity to influence their success, independence, and greater flexibility in working hours. The gender of the respondents and the degree of study do not affect the expectations. More significant uncertainty and insufficient business skills discourage them from starting a business. Up to 86% of respondents are interested in business education.

The results of this research serve as the basis for preparing the structure and content of the subject, textbook and e-learning course Entrepreneurial Skills, which we are preparing as part of the KEGA project. The results can also help design effective educational programs and policies. Business education is critical to developing the necessary skills and knowledge. It gives students the tools to tackle the challenges they will encounter in starting and managing businesses. Quality entrepreneurship education can increase students' confidence in starting and successfully running a business.
