NEW PERSPECTIVES IN LANGUAGE TEACHING: INTEGRATE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE EDUCATION

The aim of this paper is to explore how the Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be integrated into language education and because of the novelty of this approach, we will investigate also the perceptions of the teachers of Foreign Languages from the higher education and the experience of some students regarding the use and the efficacy of AI by using ChatGPT and other AI tools. We will show how ChatGPT could be used as a valuable tool for complementing and enhancing traditional FL teaching methods in the following topics: automated writing evaluation; intelligent tutoring systems for reading and writing; automated error detection; personalized systems for language learning; web resources and web-based systems for language learning; for writing in Language for specific purposes; intelligent tutoring and assessment systems for pronunciation and speech training. The integration of AI in educational programs has the potential to optimize the teaching process and save teachers valuable resources and time. AI can be used in various areas of lesson preparation, from the creation of teaching materials to the personalization of learning.
