When we represent a building, we express a personal approach to architecture. We "read" the building. Architectural studies require professionals to collaborate in the tasks of producing and drawing architectural buildings, and also to have a good level of knowledge in the area of computer-aided design.
All construction projects submitted to official agencies must be delivered using the BIM (Building Information Modelling) methodology. With BIM, a building model is created that not only contains the design of a building but also includes its data, the properties of its components, its construction, maintenance, and so on. The deadline for using the BIM tool will be met by 2025. 3D printing is also one of the technological trends of recent years. 3D printing has many uses. Examples of 3D printers for modelling and their use in all fields, particularly in architecture, are here presented.
The methodology used in this project is predominantly practical. The students created the building plans, and later viewed its different phases with virtual reality, introducing it into the metaverse of construction. This was carried out with students from the Higher Technical School of Building in Madrid, from both the Bachelor's and Double Bachelor's degrees in Building, with a total of 24 participating students. The implementation was based on a common activity in the course called Architectural Drawing, which is present in the first and second semesters of the aforementioned degrees. What the students can learn from this activity will be very important for their future technical work.
We must consider that regardless of the technique used, the most important thing is to know our objective in order to achieve good presentation of the project. Furthermore, it is crucial, in any architectural work, to choose the most appropriate representation technique before creating a representation of the project.
