The work of teachers and headmasters during the changes in education has been in a constant state of shift. This affects not only their professional activities but also the quality of their work, efficiency, and emotional well-being. Perfectionism can be one of the factors contributing to teacher burnout and can cause them to leave the profession. Therefore, it is relevant to analyze the problematic issues: how is the perfectionism of teachers and headmasters of preschool educational institutions manifested in professional activities? In what ways and by what means do preschool education institution headmasters and teachers manage their subjective experiences in the context of perfectionism prevention? The object of the research – the expression of perfectionism among preschool education institution headmasters and teachers. The aim of the research – analyze the trends in the expression of perfectionism among preschool education institution headmasters and teachers

A quantitative research strategy was chosen, using a closed-ended questionnaire. The research instrument consisted of 24 statements, formulated after an analysis of scientific literature. These statements provided an opportunity to identify trends in the expression of perfectionism and the preventive methods and measures applied in professional activities. Each statement aimed at identifying the expression of perfectionism was evaluated by the study participants using a three-point scale with the options: "disagree," "neither agree nor disagree," and "agree." Preventive methods and measures applied in professional activities were assessed by choosing one of four options: "Never," "Rarely," "Often," or "Always." The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the mean responses of the two groups.

In the quantitative study, a purposive sampling method was employed, involving the survey of preschool teachers and directors and deputy directors for education from preschool institutions in the Siauliai region of Lithuania. The study involved 316 participants, of which 86 were preschool education institution headmasters and 230 were teachers.

Preschool education institution headmasters and teachers exhibit similar trends in the expression of perfectionism. The working conditions, emotional, and psychological well-being of both leaders and teachers directly affect the quality of education and the welfare of children. The study results indicate that both groups of respondents display similar perfectionistic traits, striving for high standards and goals for themselves. Both groups display a positive trend in self-assessment of their achievements. Headmasters strive for perfection more and value high professional standards compared to teachers. The important role of collaboration and support within the organization becomes evident, promoting a positive microclimate and professional growth.
