Abstract:
This poster presents an overview of the R+D+i project (CIGE/2021/131, https://ci5ods.blogs.uv.es/) H5P interactive content and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in foreign language teaching, social sciences and pre-service teachers education funded by the Conselleria d'Innovació, Universitats, Ciència i Societat Digital. Universities have a critical role to play in the achievement of the SDGs. H5P (HTML 5 Package) is a technology that allows educators to create, share and reuse interactive and multimedia content, and it is currently integrated with most e-learning platforms, such as Moodle and Canvas. The project's main aims are to research the potential of interactive and multimedia activities (H5P) in the field of education and to introduce the Sustainable Development Goals in university degrees in teaching and pedagogy. So far, the project has completed several different plans of action. On the one hand, it has implemented digital competence training based on the use, creation, and reception of H5P activities in the Higher Education environment. These practices have resulted in quantifiable data on the reception of H5P activities and versatile methods to include additional digital competence in the teaching and learning experience. On the other hand, pedagogical actions have been proposed to disseminate and integrate knowledge and practice of the SDGs in the classroom environment. The current goal is to integrate these two objectives by including SDGs goals into the H5P activities' creation, thus responding to a need to provide multiple means of engagement, representation, and action and aligning with Universal Design for Learning by stimulating different learning processes, encouraging the creation of learning materials and offering contemporary modes of instructions.
