Abstract:
The words “training”, “continuing education” and “development” are recurrently adopted as synonyms, being understood as a permanent process of improving the knowledge necessary for professional activity, carried out after initial training. Training is a structured learning activity to drive the improvement of institutional competences through the development of individual competences. Within the scope of the institutions of the Brazilian federal education network, the purpose of training is to provide opportunities for improvement described as development needs, carried out in alignment with organizational objectives. The responsibility for providing qualifications, courses, training and education generally lies with the people management of educational institutions. In Brazil, several federal public educational institutions use the Integrated Management System (SIG, “Sistema Integrado de Gestão” in Portuguese language); SIG is a set of systems developed for the improving and computerizing work processes inherent to academic, administrative and personnel management. At the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS), a public and federal education institution in Brazil, the SIG comprises the following systems: Integrated System of Academic Activities (SIGAA); Integrated System of Asset Management, Administration and Contracts (SIPAC); Integrated Management and Human Resources System (SIGRH); Integrated Planning and Project Management System (SIGPP); and Integrated Management and Communication System (SIGADMIN). In this research paper, the objective is to investigate and to know how the institutions of the public and federal education network in Brazil carry out training for teachers on the SIGAA Virtual Class module, in order to improve them. The SIGAA computerizes the student's academic life. The SIGAA academic system is composed of several modules referring to different levels of teaching, research, extension, among others, to manage and computerize academic procedures at IFRS. The day by day at the educational institution involves managing the student's academic life, so when the teachers use the SIGAA Virtual Class module they have the possibility of inserting data the manage and register the lesson plan, frequencies, evaluations, contents and grades, indicate educational materials, notices, send messages for students, school documents, among other demands. The SIGAA data result in reports that contribute to a more participatory and efficient management. The methodology used in this work was documental research, which sought to investigate and analyze documents of training on SIGAA, through the portals of 15 institutions of the Brazilian federal education network. The categories for analysis included: the format of the training, responsible, types of materials, content, whether it has a pedagogical relationship with the institution's Didactic Organization documents, whether it has a FAQ (Questions and Answers) and a system for testing users. After analyzing the documents and content available on the portals of the 15 institutions investigated, it was possible to associate and organize the findings in the light of the analysis categories. The results will be detailed in the paper. Based on them, a new training format is being designed for IFRS teachers on the SIGAA Virtual Class module.
