Session time: Tuesday, 2nd of July from 08:30 to 10:00
Session type: INTERACTIVE
Room: Interactive

This workshop is for those who want to live with their own skin an experience that combines art, mathematics and origami. We will work on a painting of Van Gogh, folding origami models to recover some parts of it and seeing a sketch of math lessons on them, reproducing a real experience we had in an Italian school. In particular we fold a Pythagorean Tree, Sonobe modules and a Magic Circle to speak about powers of natural numbers and geometric properties of 2D and 3D figures. Although the maths activities are focused for students 8-14 years old, the session is specially appropriated for art and math teachers of any level of school that will get novel ideas they can use in their classes.

This workshop will be led by Maria Luisa Spreafico and Eulàlia Tramuns. Politecnico di Torino (Italy).
