Special sessions

Special sessions are for authors who wish to dedicate an entire session to one specific project or theme. 4 or more authors can go into more depth about their work and discuss thought-provoking projects with the audience.
If you and your co-authors are interested in this option, you can find the instructions below on how to submit a proposal. The deadline for proposals to be submitted is November 20th 2025.

General guidelines

  • Sessions last 60 to 90 minutes composed of between 4 and 6 oral presentations.
  • The session can include active group discussions introduced by the moderators.

How to propose a Special Session

First, submit the abstracts related to the session via the myIATED submission platform before the abstract deadline November 20th 2025. Between 4 and 6 abstracts should be included in the session.

Once completed, please send the following information to inted2026@iated.org. before November 20th 2025:

  • Who your target audience is
  • Topic area (please choose one from the topic list)
  • Name, address and affiliations of the session's organizers (one or two people)

After having received your session proposal, it will be evaluated, and you will receive an acceptance/rejection notification by email before the December 22nd 2025.

Review criteria

The following points will be taken into consideration when reviewing your session proposal:

  • The quality of the contents
  • The diversity of speakers and institutions taking part
  • The novelty and relevance of the topic

Paper submission

If your session is accepted, final papers should be submitted for each abstract via the myIATED submission platform.

Author registration

In order to confirm your session's slot in the conference program, any author taking part should confirm their attendance and complete registration before January 15th 2026 (author registration deadline). A minimum of 4 authors per special session must register. If authors are not registered by the deadline, the session will not be included in the Conference Program.
