Abstract:
At the department of Nutrition and Dietetics at The Hague University of Applied Sciences we have embedded international experiences within our exam regulations, ensuring that all of our students have at least three international encounters in their bachelor programme, in order to develop their global citizenship skills.

1st year students (200-250 in total) participate in a COIL-course with students from all over the world and have an authentic learning experience. The next authentic international encounter takes place in the second year, when all students participate in an international week (IW) with students and staff from other universities. In the third year, all students participate in international classrooms for their major programme during 20 weeks and have the option to study abroad, do an international internship or internationalisation@home electives. All international activities are reflected on and evaluated in collaboration, communication and networking competencies.

In this session we want inspire you with examples of the activities we organised with five European partners throughout the second year like The Foodture Academy and the The Foodture Meets, a combination of activities offered as an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme and excursions. After the session, participants will have a clear view on some options to embed long-lasting international activities in their curriculum and exam regulations and create international curricula even in non-English taught programmes.
