Pat Yongpradit is the Chief Academic Officer at Code.org, a non-profit focused on expanding computer science education, and also leads TeachAI, a global initiative that guides education leaders in rethinking learning in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this keynote talk, he introduces AI and its transformative impact, highlighting why AI literacy is essential for both educators and students. He offers insights into how the computer science (CS) education community has confronted critical questions about AI’s role and potential to enhance CS education, underscoring the opportunity to reflect on and rethink education as a whole.

Implementing learning analytics and learning design at scale: Lessons from the Open University UK and SoLAR

A range of studies on learning analytics and practical interventions have shown that educators’ decisions around learning analytics and design significantly impact what, how, and when students learn. In this talk, Bart Rienties, Professor of Learning Analytics, programme lead of the Learning Analytics and Learning Design Research Programme at the Institute of Educational Technology at the Open University UK, and President of the Society of Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR), shares insights on how to begin implementing learning analytics and design in your own context. He also discusses how learning analytics and design have been adopted worldwide, drawing on experiences from SoLAR, the largest research community focused on learning analytics.
