Pursuant to the provisions in Act 5/2012 of 20 March on tax, financial and administrative measures and the creation of the Tax on Rooms in Tourist Establishments, published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) number 83 of 6 April (the Official Gazette of Catalonia (DOGC) number 6094 of 23 March), the Tax on Rooms in Tourist Establishments will come into force from 1 November 2012, which will be charged per person and per night in 4* and 4*S hotels at €1.10 and 5* hotels at €2.25 (10% taxes not included), up to a maximum amount of 7 room units per person and is not applicable to minors under 16 years of age.
Barcelona airport is located in El Prat de Llobregat, 12 kilometers southwest of the city.
A train connects the airport with the railway station, Estació de Sants, every 30 minutes starting at 5:43 a.m. to 10:13 p.m.
The ride takes approximately 30 minutes.
Bus service is also available from the Plaça de Catalunya, departing every 15 minutes all year around.
