ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: MODERN APPLICATIONS IN TEACHING ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES

AI is becoming more and more powerful in the modern world of globalization and technology. This instrument, created to develop the expansion of brain abilities, generates zillions of different reactions, from admiration to extreme fear. The educational field is not an exclusion. From the very beginning, educators throughout the world have been trying to understand and process the entire spectrum of AI. While some see it as a threat to students’ abilities to cultivate studying and thinking, others try to see opportunities in engaging this technological advancement in students’ growing processes. During the last few years, many new methods of using AI were developed, as well as many possible disadvantages that were named and explored in one of the special fields of teaching English for specific purposes at technical universities. The article analyzes recent materials on using AI in higher education and presents a review of the most important findings made by scholars and educators from different countries. Moreover, the research is concentrated on the positive outcomes of using AI and the negative issues related to the instrument.
