In recent years, Greece has been receiving more and more waves of immigrants due to global developments, thus shaping new social conditions and new educational needs. The new immigrants who arrive are called upon to adapt and integrate as smoothly as possible both in society and in a new educational environment. This is a huge challenge both for them and for the host country, which must implement new educational policies in order to successfully integrate these young people into its education system. Greece has, over the last decades, tried to make serious reforms, both in terms of educational policy and in terms of effective training of human resources, to successfully meet the demands of a globalized society. Greece, as a member state of the European Union, has also faithfully followed the dictates of the European policy of managing diversity in education.

This study aims to focus on the integration of young people with an immigrant background in the school environment of the Volos region. Through this research, questions related to the effective implementation of educational management policies in the Volos region will be answered. The perceptions of teachers of earlier decades and the modern era will be investigated and captured through a comparative analysis of data collected from primary research. Through this comparative analysis it is expected that useful conclusions will be drawn about the progress achieved in the last decades, which could contribute to the future implementation of more appropriate models for the adaptation of immigrants both in society in general and in the school environment in particular.
