Digital literacy has become a key competency in educational environments over the past two decades. Given the rapid development of digital technologies, it is essential to continually reflect these changes in education and related competencies. Educational institutions and employers increasingly emphasize the ability of students and employees to effectively use digital technologies. This capability extends beyond mere technical skills and encompasses critical thinking, the ability to analyze and evaluate digital content, and adapt to emerging technologies and approaches. Therefore, it is crucial that educational systems not only actively support the development of digital skills but also examine their impact on students' overall academic success.

Despite the growing importance of digital literacy in society, this area remains insufficiently explored, particularly regarding its impact on students' academic success at different stages of their educational journey or career. Current research does not adequately cover the wide spectrum of students, from those planning to enter higher education to graduates who are already established in the job market. This research gap prevents a deeper understanding of how digital skills can contribute to better academic outcomes and which specific aspects of digital literacy are most crucial for success in the academic environment.

This article focuses on researching digital literacy and its impact on academic success through a qualitative study utilizing semi-structured interviews with three categories of respondents: prospective college students, current students, and graduates with two to four years of work experience. The analysis of the interviews focuses on identifying key themes and patterns in the perception and utilization of digital literacy, as well as their relationship to academic and professional success. This contribution aims to explore the importance of digital literacy in the context of education and to present this topic to the scientific and academic community for further detailed examination, thereby indirectly supporting the development of these key competencies among students and university graduates.
