The newest generation of students are true digital natives and go by the name Generation Z. What characteristics typify this generation and what can we do to connect with them? Generation Z grew up with their smartphone glued to their hands. Watching TikToks and vlogs on YouTube is a very popular pastime amongst this generation. What can we learn from these types of media and how can we bring TikToks and vlogs into our classes without having to compromise on quality? During this workshop you will discover if and how vlogs and TikToks can be an addition in your classes. You will learn why we prefer to call TikToks microvideos. We will discuss the creative process as well as the didactical aspects. Of course, you'll get the opportunity to turn everything you learned into action by making your own microvideo.

  • how to write a script for a microvideo
  • how to apply the multimedia principles of Mayer onto microvideos
  • how to film a microvideo with an Ipad, smartphone or tablet
