Special sessions

Special sessions will allow authors to spend an entire session presenting about a specific project or theme. They will enable a group of 4 or more authors to go into more depth about their work and discuss their projects with the audience. Special sessions should be stimulating and intriguing for attendees.

If you and your co-authors find this to be an interesting option, don’t hesitate to send us your special session proposal. You can find the contact details below. Just like for other abstracts, the deadline for submission is July 11th 2024.

General guidelines

  • Sessions last 60 to 90 minutes.
  • Each session should have between 4 and 6 oral presentations.
  • Each presentation should last a maximum of 15 minutes.
  • The session can include active group discussions introduced by the moderators.

    • All abstracts related to the special session should be submitted through the myIATED online application. Between 4 and 6 abstracts should be included in the session. Once you have submitted them, send us the list of abstract titles and abstract IDs in your email together with the general session details so they can be evaluated together.
  • After having received your session proposal, it will be evaluated, and you will receive an acceptance/rejection notification by email before the August 30th 2024.

    Review criteria

The following points will be taken into consideration when reviewing your session proposal:

    • The quality of the contents
    • The diversity of speakers and institutions taking part
    • The novelty and relevance of the topic

    Paper submission

If your session is accepted, final papers should be submitted for each abstract via the online submission platform.

    Author registration

In order to confirm your session's slot in the conference program, any author taking part should confirm their attendance and complete registration before September 19th 2024 (author registration deadline). A minimum of 4 authors per special session must register. If authors are not registered by the deadline, the session will not be included in the Conference Program.
One of the organisers of the special session is expected to chair their session.
